Is the home in need of a facelift? Why not try some funky new furniture.  Or perhaps his storage needs sorting, so give him the space he needs with some innovative furniture.

Does he have green fingers? Why not get him something for the garden? A project perhaps, or a selection of plants. If he's not keen on flowers, tell him he can build something -like a deck or arbour. Blokes love that sort of thing! What about some garden furniture so you can both enjoy a lazy summer's afternoon?

If he really is a wine buff, why not get him a share in a real vineyard? Enjoy the produce of your own grapes come harvest time.

Some love it, some hate it. Either way a poor workman always blames his tools. So why not give him no excuses for not doing that little project you had in mind by making sure he has all the right kit to do it with? Don't forget the safety stuff too, like goggles, dust masks, etc.
