There are lots of options here, but mainly they fall between the practical items and the entertainment items.

Practical items could be considered a vacuum cleaner (not a typical present - unless she really wants one of course!), alarm clock, etc.

Entertainment items are a lot more fun (naturally) and could include upgrading your old TV to a flashy widescreen plasma type, a portable CD player, DVD recorder, new hi-fi, etc. Try not to get something that you just want yourself!

Don't forget the accessories too, such as recordable DVD's, or the latest CD from her favourite artist to play on the new hi-fi.

Digital cameras are improving all the time and you can now get extremely high quality images from a camera costing little more than £100. This could be the start of a new hobby for her or perhaps it would be a good second present idea to record the experience of an activity day or holiday.

Perhaps she's already a photographic buff and has some serious kit. What about an accessory to go with that? A memory card, new lens, filter kit, photo-paper for her inkjet printer, etc.
